The Friends of the Pool and Park Foundation (FOPP) have been working tirelessly for the past 30 months to raise funds and awareness to save the Chinook City Pool and Park. The facilities have seen significant deterioration through the years and are in dire need of being repaired. The local pool and park are such a pivotal part of the community and provide so much that repairing these facilities is paramount. Chinook will be hosting a blood drive on Tuesday, January 10th, 2023 from noon till 6pm at the Chinook Community Commercial Building down at the fairgrounds. The Friends of the Pool and Park Foundation held a Chinook Community Ice Skating get together on Saturday, December 17. Despite the temperature being just 13 degrees when it got underway at 3:00 pm in the afternoon, the weather had little effect on those in attendance. A Convention & Expo took place on October 26-29, approximately 80,000 FFA members from around the United States gathered in Indianapolis, Indiana. Among them were ten members from Chinook. A retirement party is being planned for Thursday, December 22 at the Blaine County Courthouse at 2:00 pm on the second floor. The guests of honor will be Tammy Williams, Cindy Dennis and Frank DePriest. Combined the three have more than 80 years of service to the people of Blaine County.
