Lawrence Eugene Siemens was born on September 21, 1928 to Jacob and Kathaleen Siemens of Chinook, Montana. Lawrence grew up 23 miles North of Chinook on the Siemens Ranch where they grew wheat and raised Black Angus cattle. Lawrence learned to play his accordion by ear, and he was so good at it.
