We've Got The County Covered
Did you know that each unit of blood donated can save up to three lives? Please come join the American Red Cross on Tuesday Nov. 10 from 1 to 6 p.m. at Wallner Hall and help save a life. Appointments are not necessary but encouraged.
All donors are welcome, scheduled or walk in. If you have not made an appointment and would like to do so, please go online at redcrossblood.org or call 1-800-733-2767. You may also call your local blood drive coordinator, Carla Jenewein at 357-2491 and leave a message.
Anyone age 16 or older is encouraged to donate blood, but must have a signed parental consent each time that you donate. They will be available at the CHS office, welcome table at the blood drive, or you may go to redcrossblood.org and enter your zip code to print a consent form.
All donors, please remember that you need to bring with you either a valid ID or your Red Cross donor card.
Keep in mind that this is the start of the cold and flu season. A person with a fever, productive cough, or other acute cold symptoms should not donate until feeling well enough to donate. Anyone who has completed antibiotic treatment for, and has recovered from sinus, throat or lung infection may donate. Mild nasal congestion, a dry cough or allergies are acceptable.
Don’t forget to get a good night’s sleep before you donate, have a good breakfast and/or lunch, and drink extra water and fluids to replace the volume you will donate. Try to avoid beverages with caffeine as well as try to eat iron rich foods and avoid fatty foods.
We are looking forward to seeing you there.
