We've Got The County Covered
The fourth Annual Turkey Trot will take place this Saturday at 9 a.m. The goal of the event is to help raise funds for the local food pantry in Chinook. Organizers put the event together four years ago as a means to help the pantry stock up on supplies to meet the demands through the winter season.
The event is an easy and fun way for those interested to help out. Entry is twenty dollars and a donation of two canned food items. So often people want to help those around them but just aren’t sure how to accomplish that goal and the Turkey Trot is a perfect opportunity to do just that.
Participants will be able to choose to either enter the street mile or 5k run/walk. The event is not a race and you don’t have to have a desire to win the event, just an urge and a willingness to come out and support your local food bank.
The local Town Pump is matching all funds brought into the Food Bank during the month of November so the more participants the larger their contribution will be.
Event organizers will have hot coffee and fresh cinnamon rolls for all participants following the conclusion of the ‘Trot.’
