We've Got The County Covered

North side loading source closed for bulk water users

With the freezing weather the Chinook bulk water location at the northeast corner of 3rd Street North and Indiana is closed. The location was installed while outside construction was limiting access to the regular source at the water plant.

John Blankenship, Superintendent of the Water Treatment Plant, said, “Regular access at the plant is now returned.”

He noted haulers would be able to make the loop around the plant rather than having to back up and turn around to exit the plant. Haulers are asked to proceed around the loop with caution as construction workers and equipment will still be crossing and adjacent to the road.

Blankenship added, “We ask that bulk haulers be cautious and alert for road hazards. We can only keep the loop open if it is used properly and safely.”

Most week days bulk haulers will have access to the regular fill-up site at the water plant from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., those are the hours the construction crew regularly works. Gates are open when construction is in progress.

The construction crew normally works Monday through Thursday, but some extended work weeks will occur. On other days, typically Friday through Sunday, plant personnel will be on site and bulk haulers will have access from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m.

All these hours could extend when the daylight hours begin to lengthen again.
