State Champion 'Beeters, Wildcats well represented on All-Conference, All-State teams

The 2015 Montana Class 'C' Eight-man Football Champion Chinook Sugarbeeters were well decorated following the announcement of the Northern C All-Conference, All-State teams with eight athletes earning recognition.

The Harlem Wildcats were also well represented when the Northern B All-Conference, All-State lists were announced as four Wildcats received honors.

The Sugarbeeters dominated the Northern C All-State list as seniors Derek Bell, Ian McIntosh, Travis Hamilton, Kevin Young, Jesse Dannels, Kenny Pruttis and Jake Norby as well as junior Tate Niederegger were all named to the team.

Young, Chinook's career sack leader, and Dannels also received All-State recognition for their efforts a year ago and again anchored both the defensive and offensive lines. Young and Dannels were also named first team All-Conference offense and defense.

Hamilton has been a standout in the trenches the past couple of seasons and was rewarded for his efforts on both sides of the ball. Hamilton was also named to both the offensive and defensive All-Conference first teams.

Bell was an integral part of the 'Beeter attack in all three phases of the game. Bell set the 'Beeters up with good position in the return game while also providing a punch from his full back position or a stop at linebacker. Bell was further honored with first team All-Conference defense and offense selections.

McIntosh has been a staple at the quarterback position the last three seasons and continued that trend this year while also becoming a stopper in the defensive secondary. McIntosh was also named to both the offensive and defensive All-Conference first teams.

Pruttis tied the school mark for interceptions in a season while also batting several balls down. He became an effective receiver and a constant threat in the offensive scheme. Pruttis also received second team All-Conference offense and Honorable Mention defense recognition.

Niederegger was the workhorse in the offensive backfield leading the team in attempts and yards while also becoming a defensive stopper from his inside linebacker position. Niederegger garnered a second team All-Conference defense selection as well as an Honorable Mention offense selection.

Norby made some amazing catches from his receiver position this fall but his ability to block down field left its mark on several opponents. Norby was very good at coming up and stopping the run or pass with his coverage ability. Norby was further honored by being named to the second team All-Conference defense.

Wildcat junior Reece Hutton had a stellar season on the field this past fall gaining the attention of all those he played against.

Hutton was rewarded for his efforts by being selected to the District 2B first team on both the offensive and defensive side of the ball. Hutton was further honored by being named to the Northern B All-State team.

Joining Hutton on the District 2B All-Conference list were senior Tyler Humphreys (2nd team offense), junior Corbin Brockie (2nd team defense), and junior Damon Adams (2nd team offense).

Chinook football head coach Scott Friede was named the Northern C Coach of the Year after guiding his team to a perfect 12-0 record and the 2015 Class 'C' Eight-man Football championship.
