We've Got The County Covered
December arrives, and with it all the wonders of this special time of year. St. Thomas Catholic Church in Harlem has various events scheduled during the month, starting with the annual Christmas Bazaar on Saturday, December 5 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at New Horizons. A collection basket for nonperishable food items for the Harlem Ministerial Association’s food pantry will be available at the bazaar.
Following 8:30 a.m. Mass the next day, December 6, Christmas coffee hour will be served.
At Harlem’s annual Country Christmas, Wednesday, December 9, the church will host a display of churches at the Hitching Post to help us remember the “reason for the season.” Community members are invited to bring a church for display by noon that day.
Decorating the church for Christmas will be held following 5 p.m. Mass on December 19.
Again, the parish will have a giving tree for a family in need and a mitten tree to collect mittens, hats and scarves throughout the month to give to the school for children needing them.
Christmas Eve Mass will be held Thursday, December 24, at 6:30 p.m. heralding the celebration of Jesus’ birth. Everyone is invited to participate in any or all of these special events.
