Dale Spencer Dahlquist, 76, passed away of cancer Sunday, December 20, 2015 at the Living Centre.
He was born March 26, 1939 in Chinook to Homer and Kathleen Dahlquist. He went through the eleventh grade before going to work at the creamery in Havre.
Dale married Helen Cichosz on June 15, 1957. He went to work for Speers Implement and GTA in Chinook, then worked on a farm in Harlem. He moved to Missoula and went to work at the Van Evans plywood mill, drove logging and over-the road trucks and also worked in construction over a span of 45 years.
Dale was a member of the Florence Saddle Club, loved to bowl, play darts, golf, was in a pool league and enjoyed hunting and fishing.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, mother and father and a brother, Ronald.
He is survived by his wife Helen of Stevensville; his sons Dean of Stevensville, Paul (Debbie) of Tucson, AZ, Don of Billings, Chuck of Florence, Randy of Stevensville and Mike of Billings; 12 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren; a sister Claudia Nace of Billings; and many nephews and nieces as well as many friends.
A memorial celebration of Dale’s life will be held on Friday, May 6, 2016 at 3 p.m. at the Whitesitt Funeral Home with Chaplain Greg Grallo officiating. Honorary pallbearers will be his sons, Dean, Paul, Don, Chuck, Randy and Mike.
The family suggests memorial donations may be made in Dale’s name to either the St. Mary’s Historical Society in Stevensville or to Hospice of Missoula. Condolences and memories may be shared with the family at http://www.whitesittfuneralhome.com.
