We've Got The County Covered
By Kristi Norby
Good morning! It’s that time of year after the holidays when things slow down but not here at the Chinook Senior Center. We have a lot going on this week, so I better get right to it!
Last week’s winner of shanghai rummy was Lois Hanson and our bingo winner was Karyn Higgins. At the Pinochle Party, high was Eunice Lott/Frances Ewing and low was Lawrence Siemens. Winning the double pinochle was Cassie Morgan and Don Durocher.
There will be a North Central Area Agency on Aging meeting this Friday, Jan. 15 in Chester that several of us will be going to. Just give us a call to let us know if you are interested in going and we will give you the information.
Also on Friday, Jan. 15, the Kitchen Band will be playing at the center at 10:30 a.m. followed by a wonderful lunch of crispy chicken at noon. Cards will follow. It’s a fun-filled day, so come join us and have a good time!
On Monday, Jan. 18 will be pool starting at 1 p.m. We are always looking for more players.
On Tuesday, Jan. 19, the Cancer Support Group meets at 11:30 a.m. with Chris Maloney, a cancer survivor from Turner speaking. Please call ahead if you are planning on eating at the center.
On Wednesday, Jan. 20 we will be showing the Hallmark movie “Crossroads.” Snacks and drinks will be served.
Thank you this week to Sara Baird for the coffee. We appreciate it!
If you are looking for something to do, keep us in mind. We always are looking for volunteers or suggestions for new activities.
