Harlem's roller coaster season continues with 57-49 loss in Glasgow

If one thing is for certain its that the Harlem girls basketball team is capable of playing very well for stretches during the course of a game, but they have struggled to string that play together for 32 minutes.

Head coach Laramie Schwenke has commented on the team needing to play better for longer stretches each time they step on the court.

Saturday Harlem was looking for a bounce back performance following a tough loss to Chinook Friday. The girls headed east to Glasgow for a District 2B clash with a very good Scottie team.

Harlem had things rolling early both offensively and defensively and secured a 16-11 lead heading into the second.

The Scotties however would be a basket better in the second, 18-11 to take a 29-28 lead at halftime.

Both teams continued to match each other basket for basket in the third with the Scotties getting the last to extend their advantage to four, 41-37 with eight minutes left in the contest.

Harlem stuck with the Scotties for four quarters but couldn't cut into the Glasgow advantage playing a much more complete game before falling 56-49 to the 6-2 Scotties.

Harlem was led in the contest by senior Mari Ereaux and her 16 points. Senior Brooke LeValdo added 11 and freshman Skylee Dirden contributed nine in the loss.

Harlem drops to 0-3 in District 2B play and 3-5 overall.

The girls will welcome the Shelby Coyotes to town Friday night and then travel to Poplar Saturday in another District 2B clash.
