Girls District, Divisional tournaments almost here

The Class B and C girls District tournaments begin next week as the regular season concludes this weekend for teams from Chinook, Harlem, Hays/Lodge Pole and Turner.

The District 9C tournament begins next Wednesday at the Havre High School gymnasium.

Currently the Chinook Sugarbeeters hold the number two seed in the tournament and currently would begin play against the number seven seeded Hays/Lodge Pole Thunderbirds.

The Turner Tornadoes sit in sixth place and at the time would open against the Fort Benton Longhorns.

The Harlem Lady Cats sit in fourth place in the District 2B and will begin play next Thursday against the number five seeded Poplar Indians with the winner getting a game against the top seeded Malta M-ettes.

The top three teams from the District 9C will advance to the Northern C Divisional in Great Falls the following week.

The top four teams in the District 2B tournament will advance to the Northern B two weeks later in Choteau making Harlem’s opening game big one.

The Sugarbeeters are looking to advance to the Northern C for the sixth straight season while the Tornadoes have the potential to surprise someone and make the trip as well. The Wildcats look good to advance as they have a win over Poplar already under their Belt.

The Thunderbirds have made great strides on the court and a single win next week would be huge for the program and they could get that depending on how games go.
