Kay (Conrad) Schellin, age 72, died of complications from pneumonia on February 13, 2016 in Havre, MT surrounded by her family. Memorial services will be held on Wednesday, February 17, 2016 at 11:00 am at the St. Gabriel's Catholic Church in Chinook. Arrangements have been made with Edwards Funeral Home of Chinook. Kay was born on March 8, 1943 in Havre, MT to Richard and Monica Conrad. She and her brother Dick grew up on the family farm south of Chinook. She graduated from Chinook High School in 1961 and married Robert J. (B.J.) Schellin on October 2, 1971. They ran a farming and ranching operation north of Lohman for the last forty-four years. "The Ranch" is where they raised their three daughters. Kay worked along-side her husband BJ, and was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. In addition to helping with the farming operation, Kay enjoyed refinishing furniture and painting, gardening, sewing or doing various other odd jobs around the place as well as fussing over her numerous pets. She was a sports enthusiast, artist and horsewoman. Many people passed through her kitchen and sat at the counter. She was a friend to all and a mentor to many. She hosted a large family Christmas Eve dinner for decades in her wonderfully decorated home. Her gracious hospitality will live on in all of our hearts and memories forever.

Preceded in death by her parents. Kay is survived by her husband, B.J. Schellin of Chinook, MT; daughters, Lona Schellin, of Chinook, MT .; Michele O'Leary of Bozeman, MT .; and Kim (Steve) Garvert of Belgrade, MT. Her brother Dick (Ardis) Conrad of Chinook, MT; six loving grandchildren, Riley, Bailey and Reese O'Leary, Grace, Jenna and Allie Garvert and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.

A funeral is scheduled for 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, February 17th, 2016 at St. Gabriel's Catholic Church in Chinook with a reception to follow. Memorials can be made to the Fine Arts Department at the Chinook High School.
