Naomi Mary 'Bones' (Turntoes) Hinkle

Naomi Mary "Bones" (Turntoes) Hinkle, 77, of Great Falls, passed away at Benefis on February 22, 2016 of natural causes.

A wake will be held Friday, February 26, 2016 at 5:00 PM at St. Paul's Mission Parish, 301 Mission St., Hays, MT. Her funeral services will be held at St. Paul's Mission Parish, Saturday, February 27, 2016 at 1:00 PM with Father Garrett Nelson presiding. Burial will immediately follow in the St. Paul's Mission Cemetery.

Naomi was born January 28, 1939 in Fort Belknap, MT to John Turcott and Matilda Turntoes. She was raised in Hays, MT and as a youngster, was the leader of the "Bones Gang." Naomi completed her education in Hays, graduating from high school.

She married Joseph Hinkle, and together they created a family. Her most precious times were spent with her family and their friends.

Naomi worked as a nurse's aide when the family lived in Fort Benton. Her favorite job was as a horse trainer, which she did with her husband Joe, until his passing in 1991. Naomi was very involved with Montana Horse Racing from 1966-1990.

Naomi leaves her loving family, daughter, Nanette Peak of Hays, MT; sons, Shan Hinkle of Great Falls, MT, Rick Hinkle of Havre, MT, Rod Hinkle of Great Falls, MT, and Mike Hinkle of Great Falls, MT; sister Sylvia Hepner of Landusky, MT; as well as many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph E. Hinkle; daughter, Pamela J. Meyer; her parents; brothers Wayne and Melvin; and sister Doreen.
