The Harlem Library will be closed Friday, Mar. 11 because of the Seed Show. Hope to see you there! Events to mark on your calendar are an Internet Security workshop presented by Triangle Communications on Tues., Mar. 22, 6 P.M. in the meeting room. April Fox will lead a jewelry making workshop for the next Learn at the Library program Tues., Mar. 29, 7 P.M. There will be a small fee to cover the cost of materials.

Books and Babies and Lego Club will take a break until the first week of June. Story Time continues to meet on Fridays at 10 A.M. In honor or St. Patrick and to celebrate spring, the Book Challenge for March is to read a book with a green cover. Participating in the Book Challenge is a fun way to read a variety of books throughout the year. You may also win a gift certificate from a local business!

After her father, the founder of the colony, is brutally murdered by his brother in a fight for church power, Ruth’s mother remarries becoming the second wife of another colony member. To receive government assistance and additional income, Ruth and her siblings are moved back and forth between Mexico and the U.S. In the states Ruth realizes she does not fit in the Mormon polygamist community. She soon finds a way to escape and take her three youngest sisters with her.

“The Readers of Broken Wheel Recommend” by Katarina Bivald is set in Broken Wheel, Iowa, where no one has ever seen anyone like Sara. She traveled all the way from Sweden to meet her book-loving pen pal. Upon her arrival she discovers Amy has passed away. Much to everyone’s surprise Sara decides to stay and open a book store. Although the bookstore, and Sara, are a little quirky, this story is a heartwarming reminder of why we are booklovers.

Lindsay Starck is the author of “Noah’s Wife.” Noah’s wife has moved with her minister husband to a gray and wet town where it seems the rain will never stop. Determined to support her husband as he tries to revive the congregation, she soon realizes the task is daunting as she faces her eccentric neighbors.
