Montana Seed Show winners announced in a number of categories

From its inception part of the purpose of the Montana Seed Show was to showcase local products raised in the area and to pick the 'best of the best' during the annual event. The winners of the various Seed Show competitions were listed as follows in the program for the closing dinner and closing ceremony held on Saturday night of the event.

Educational Display Booths:. Youth Division Groups: first place to Valley Clover 4-H; second place to the Dodson School and third place to the Big Flat 4-H. Individual Division Groups: first place, Daniel Rasmussen; second place, Skylar Powell and third place to Andrew Rasmussen. The Overall Sweepstakes Winner was the Valley Clover 4-H display.

Commercial Booths: Hair It Is, entered by Raegan Bell in the For Profit division.

Wood Working: Youth Division Best of Show was Miya Main; Large Adult Division was Ralph Cross and Chuck Hewitt; Small Adult Division winner was Jack Siemens and Computer Generated best entry was won by Valene Talksdifferent.

Art: Adult Best of Show winner was Connie Tveten and Youth Best of Show was Cyprianne Guardipee.

Quilts: Judges' Choice first place went to Beaver Asperig and second place was a tie for Terry Earl and Sharon Parks. The People's Choice award went to Sharon Parks.

Car Show: People's Choice, Car and Truck, went to Jim Rowlatt. Antique Tractor was awarded to Denny Overcast and the People's Choice Toy award went to Jack Siemens.

Wool: Adult Purebred, Carolyn Green; Commercial, Jaycee Mitchell; Youth Division Purebred, Nevaeh Huston and Youth Division Commercial, Katelyn Copenhaver.

Agricultural winners: Youth Forage Rosette to Wade Schneider; Adult Certified Annual to Golden Triangle Seeds.

Adult Oil Crop winner was Max Cederberg and Adult Forage to Bruce Butcher. The Best of Show Traveling Trophy went to Golden Triangle Seeds of Rudyard.

Breads: Youth Division winners were: Oven Baked, Skylar Powell, second place and Bread Machine-Wheat Combo first place went to LaChey Stiffarm. In the adult division, winners were Oven Baked, first place, Amanda Powell; 100% Whole Wheat, first place, Erline Knudsen; Bread Machine-White, first place to Brittney Niederegger and Bread Machine-Wheat Combo, Jasmine Powell, first place. The adult Sweepstakes Winner was Amanda Powell. The winning breads were auctioned after the presentations.

Chili Cook Off: The Judges' Choice went to Mitchell Healy and the People's Choice to the Harlem Youth Baseball team.

Pies: The final winners in this division are not published until the Saturday night banquet. Top pies in the adult and youth categories are then auctioned after the winners are announced. Youth winners were: Skylar Powell, first place; Andrew Rasmussen, second place and Daniel Rasmussen, third place. Adult winners were: Hillary Richman, first place; Jane Krass, second place; Kellie Rasmussen, third place and Diana Maloney, fourth place. At the auction for the winning pies several entries brought in excess of $200. The auction proceeds go to help support the operating costs of the Seed Show.
