Rachel has returned to her hometown of minuscule Quinn, Montana. Quinn is lead by a pack of lovable but derisive women. Rachel hopes to make amends with her mother’s friends despite their unforgiving, grudge-holding personalities. She just might make things right in this backwoods, cantankerous town. In the middle of nowhere Rachel could find herself. Don’t miss the sardonic and hilarious book “The Flood Girls” by Richard Fifield.

“Lie in Plain Sight” is a new thriller by Maggie Barbieri. Maeve receives a phone call at her bakery letting her employee know that her daughter, Taylor, has gotten ill as school. Taylor’s mom is out on a delivery so Maeve gives the school nurse permission to let Taylor drive home on her own. But somewhere between school and home Taylor vanishes. Feeling responsible Maeve takes matters into her own hands and finds that their small town has a lot to hide.

Two mysteries include “Time of Fog and Fire” by Rhys Bowen and “The Waters of Eternal Youth” by Donna Leon.
