Deion Hammett
On Friday, April 22nd, Deion Hammett, a 2015 Harlem High School Graduate, completed the 12 week Marine Corp Boot Camp at the Marine Corp Recruit Depot(MCRD) in San Diego, California. Hammett was part of Platoon 1015, 1st Battalion Alpha Company.
Some of his highlights include being the only recruit in his platoon to get a perfect score on his physical fitness test, which included, running 3 miles under 18:00 minutes, most crunches in 2 minutes & 20 or more pull-ups. He also missed expert marksman by 2 points.
After his 10 days of leave, Deion will return back to Camp Pendleton in California, where he will continue his training for 9 weeks. Deion is the son of Brian & Melinda Hammett, the grandson of Marcia Stiffarm Hammett, and Roberta & Maurice Adams.
