Chinook Blood Drive collects 36 total units from 47 donors

On Tuesday, May 10th, the American Red Cross Blood Drive at Wallner Hall had 48 donors that presented with a total of 36 units collected on a goal of 47.

Four first time donors were registered; Autumn Kincaid, Corey Belcher, Ben Hall and Michael Warburton. Ben Hall was a first time donor after many years.

Vernellia Tillman received a seven gallon pin, Mark Billmayer and Louise Nissen received five gallon pins, Art Tomlinson received a three gallon pin and Roger Fischer received a two gallon pin. Each unit collected saves three lives.

We are grateful for each and every one for this life saving gift and look forward to seeing you again on Tuesday, July 12th.

The canteen was hosted by St. Gabriels Catholic Church and keeping those goodie plates filled all day were Patti and Ben Hall, Rita Langford and Vernellia Tilleman.

Pastor Jack Mattingly and the United Methodist Church provided the site for the drive. Volunteers at the registration table were Donna Murdy, Patty Treftz and Judy Johnson.

Those assisting with clean up after the drive were Colleen and Steven Mulonet, and Patty and Ben Hall.

Finley’s Food Farm donated the drinks and paper products for the drive. Your willingness and dedication to the Red Cross Blood Drive is very much appreciated. It couldn’t be done without you.

Door prizes were provided by Donna Murdy, Carla Jenewein and the North Central Montana Cattlewoman and were awarded to Fred Horning, Tina Mord, Rebecca Roberts, Catherine Mulonet, Louise Nissen, Ashley Betzel, Jennifer Hellman and Ashley Nordboe.

Last, but certainly not least, every year for the past three years a group of graduating seniors have been recognized at their graduation ceremony for their completion of the Red Cord Honors Program and their dedication to the American Red Cross.

This year the following seniors earned a Red Cross Honor Cord in recognition of their commitment to saving lives; Elizabeth Hodgson, Hattie Niederigger, Courtney Gunderson, Brooke Nicholson, Chase Lenz, and Travis Hamilton.

The American Red Cross would like to encourage each of you to continue to support your community by donating blood or volunteering your time. You are wished the best for a successful future.
