Laura Anne Adams, 83, of Idaho Falls, passed away June 12, 2016, at Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center.
Laura was born September 9, 1932, in Chinook, Montana, to David J. Funk and Elizabeth A. Peters Funk. She grew up and attended schools in Zurich, Montana and Chinook, Montana and graduated from Chinook High School in 1950. Laura also attended college at Northwestern Nazarene College in Nampa, Idaho.
On March 7, 1952, she married Robert J. Adams in Seattle, Washington. They were later divorced. Laura moved to southern California in 1954 and worked as a secretary for Douglas Aircraft. Her daughter Lori was born in 1956. When Lori moved to Idaho Falls, Idaho, Laura followed as she was not about to be separated from her grandsons. Giving up southern California weather was tough but she knew being with her grandsons was worth it. After moving to Idaho Falls Laura worked as a secretary for E G & G, Lockheed Martin, and BWI.
She was a member of St. Paul's United Methodist Church. Laura was very passionate about her yard and flowers and often gave bouquets of fresh cut flowers from her yard to local nursing homes.
Laura is survived by her daughter, Lori (Bruce) Wickham of Idaho Falls, ID; brother, Harvey (Marla) Funk of Omaha, NE; grandson, Brent (Heather) Wickham of Phoenix, AZ; grandson, Craig (Angela) Wickham of Idaho Falls, ID; grandson, Michael Wickham of Glenwood Springs, CO; and great- granddaughter, Katie Wickham of Phoenix, AZ.
She was preceded in death by her parents; David and Elizabeth Funk, two brothers; Stanley Funk and Gerald Funk and sisters; Helen Vold and Elna Merritt.
Memorial services will be held in late July.
