We've Got The County Covered
The Chinook Lions hosted their own Invitational this past weekend. Teams from all over north central Montana were on hand for the event including Harlem, Malta and Big Sandy.
The Lions were strong in the pool again as the captured both the team title and relay championship.
Harlem turned in another solid effort winning a number of individual events over the course of the two day event.
The Lions are extremely strong in the younger age groups especially the eight and under girls and boys divisions.
Chinook's Daniel Tilleman won all three of his individual events to win the high point trophy for the division.
Daniel won the 25 Meter Freestyle in :17.88, the 25 Meter Breaststroke in :29.53 and the 50 Meter Freestyle in :43.35.
The Lions Brockton Elliot won the eight and under boys 100 Meter Individual Medley (2:05.46) and the 25 Meter Butterfly (:20.57) while teammate Kohen Sullivan was victorious in the 25 Meter Backstroke. The Lions eight and under boys freestyle relay team captured gold as well.
Chinook's Katie Tilleman was also a high point winner as she bested the eight and under girls field in the 25 Meter Breaststroke (:26.63) and the 25 Meter Backstroke (:25.19). Katie added a second place finish in the 25 Meter Freestyle as well.
Harlem's Taggert Devaney continued to swim very well as he won the 13-14 boys 200 Meter Individual Medley (2:57.20) and the 100 Meter Breaststroke in 1:25.69.
Harlem's Andrew Rasmussen was also a double winner capturing titles in the 11-12 boys 200 Meter Individual Medley (3:12.01) and the 100 Meter Freestyle (1:10.11),
The Lions Britton Elliot turned in a great effort in the girls 9-10 50 Meter Freestyle, winning the event with a time of :36.98. Lane Hassler gave the Lions a win in the boys 9-10 50 Meter Freestyle (38.13) and Ella Sharples won the girls 13-14 100 Meter Freestyle (1:15.61).
Harlem also picked up an individual championship from Marie Hogen in the girls 9-10 50 Meter Back stroke (45.03).
The Lions dominated the relay races winning six races while earning top four finishes in four more events.
