Chinook Lions, Harlem swim teams break records bring home hardware from Plentywood meet

The Chinook Lions and Harlem swim teams each took a portion of their full roster and made the long trek east to Plentywood to take part in the two day meet.

While the two teams number may have been down for the meet, the results the teams posted were still at a very high level.

Chinook swimmers Daniel Tilleman (8 & Under Boys) and Britton Elliot (8 & Under Girls along with Harlem's Andrew Rasmussen (11-12 Boys) each secured individual High Point honors and broke a couple pool records in the process.

Rasmussen was a force to be reckoned with while in the pool in Plentywood. His effort in the 200 Meter Individual Medley was the best the pool had seen.

Rasmussen recorded a time of 3:09.64 to shatter the old record of 3:12.59. In addition Andrew picked up wins in the 100 Meter Freestyle, covering the four links of the pool in 1:10.07 to win the event. He later made it a clean sweep by winning the 50 Meter Backstroke in :41.13.

The strength of the Chinook Lions swim team has clearly been in its relay teams and in the younger age groups the past several years and this weekend in Plentywood it was more of the same.

Elliot won her first High Point trophy of the season as she continues to excel in the pool.

Elliot began her swim by winning the 9-10 girls Individual Medley with a time of 1:44.71. Later she added a first place finish in the 50 Meter Freestyle, completing the lap in :37.42.

Elliot concluded her meet with a second place finish in the 100 Meter Freestyle finishing in 1:26.10.

Tilleman hasn't lost a start yet this season and continued his winning ways in Plentywood securing yet another High Point trophy.

Tilleman won the 25 Meter Freestyle (:17.36), the 25 Meter Breaststroke (28.20) and the 50 Meter Freestyle (42.36) to complete the sweep.

Tilleman also joined Jacob Metcalf, Brockton Elliot and Kohen Sullivan on a record setting win in the Eight and under boys 100 meter relay establishing a new pool record with a time of 1:21.55. The quartet nearly established a pool record in the medley relay as well but were still victorious in the event.

Also recording an individual win for Chinook in the eight and under class was Katie Tilleman (Girls 25 Meter Breaststroke and 25 Meter Backstroke). Brockton Elliot (100 Meter Individual Medley and 25 Meter Butterfly) and Sullivan (25 Meter Backstroke) also claimed titles in the Eight and Under Boys while Lane Hassler (9-10 Boys) won the 50 Meter Freestyle.

Harlem's Taggert Devaney was also double winner as he won the 13-14 boys 100 meter Individual Medley and the 100 Meter Breaststroke.
