We've Got The County Covered

Courthouse third floor remodel taking shape

New space is being created for the judicial functions of Blaine County. The shape of new space can be seen from this photo inside the former storage room on the third floor of the courthouse. The step ladder is placed inside what will be the new Justice Courtroom. To the right, where workmen are visible, will be offices and space for the County Attorney and staff. Space to the left, behind the existing wall, will house the judge and staff of the Justice Court-that space formerly housed the County Superintendent of Schools. What was once the law library and east of the pictured space will be a small conference room and an office for the county's human resource function. Plans also call for a new holding cell near the existing District Court courtroom, on the north side of the third floor.

Fisher Construction, based in Billings, is the general contractor on the work. They have a contracted October 3 completion date for the work.
