White Pines get ready for fair

White Pine 4-H Club on Friday, June 17th at 1:00 p.m. in the Community Events Center at the Blaine County Fairgrounds with 20 members, 5 leaders, and 9 guests present. President, Rebecca Stroh, called the meeting to order.

Every 4-H family was thanked for bringing hotdogs, buns, chips, bars, and beverages and for setting up, preparing lunch, serving, and cleaning up the building as hosts for 4-H Project Day.

Thank you notes will be sent to the Justin and Tomi Simenson family for providing the animals and presenting showmanship workshops for the Beef, Swine, Lamb and Goat project members. To Sharon Reed and Teen Leader, Annie Reed, for the “Bread-In-A-Bag” class. To Lisa Stroh for the T-shirt class. To Teen Leader, Erika Anderson, for helping with registration, for doing the Cat Showmanship Clinic, and for demonstrating how to enter photography exhibits at the Fair to our photography project members. Thank you notes will also go to Shelley Benzing for the Dog Showmanship Workshop, Jody Crawford for the Poultry Workshop, Ben Hauptman for the MQA session and Kendra Seilstad for the “Serve Safe” session.

Club members then turned in their 4-H Scrapbook pages and paid their Fair Entry Fees. The club barn signs were distributed. Members were reminded to bring a hammer and nail to hang the signs and to clean and return the signs following the Fair. Members and parents signed up for shifts in the 4-H Chuck Wagon. Our club will be sharing a shift with the Harlem Variety 4-H Club.

White Pine is providing new signs for the Poultry Barn. We cleaned the Poultry Barn as our assignment for Project Day.

Members were reminded to call and sign up for Interview Judging times for the exhibits they are entering in the 4-H Building. The June-July 4-H Newsletter has other deadlines and notices to prepare for Fair. Please don’t hesitate to contact the Extension Office if you have questions.
