We've Got The County Covered
Chinook, MT
Patti Marie Hagfeldt (Harshman), of Laurel, was born September 22, 1956 in Havre, MT to Maurice and Arlene Harshman. She passed away unexpectedly on the morning of August 12, 2016.
Patti grew up in Chinook, MT and graduated from there in 1975 as a proud Chinook Sugarbeeter. In the coming years, she would often recite Chinook's fight song to her family and would remind them that she was Carnival Queen and Homecoming Queen while at CHS. Patti went on to attend Eastern Montana College in Billings and earned a degree in Elementary Ed. with a minor in Special Ed. It was there, she discovered her life's calling of working with and shaping the lives of children.
Patti met the love of her life, Dallas, while attending school. They were married on June 16th, 1979 at the Methodist Church in Chinook. They spent their honeymoon in Yellowstone Park, which would become their vacation spot over the years. Patti and Dallas had their daughter, Andrea, in 1983 and their son, Scott, in 1986.
Patti had a gift for filling the room with her infectious joy and laughter. Anyone that knew Patti knew that she had a smile that you couldn't help but return. Some of her favorite activities included road trips to Yellowstone with the hope of seeing a moose and taking their annual trip to Green Bay to cheer on the Packers at Lambeau Field, winning field passes once, losing the group and getting lost on the field until nearly kickoff time. Patti looked forward every year to the new class of students that she would get to teach. She loved playing with and spending time with her dogs and "grand-dogs". Above all else, she loved spending time with family. She had a life well-lived and will be deeply missed.
Patti is survived by her husband Dallas, daughter Andrea (Eric) Jones, son Scott (Jaci) Hagfeldt, her siblings Shiela (Larry) Brubaker, Shelda (Mel) Bermes, Connie (Wayne) Bergen, Danny Harshman, Kathy (Bill) Harbolt and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents Maurice and Arlene Harshman.
Services will be held Wednesday, August 24th at 10am at the Laurel United Methodist Church.
