These youngsters enjoyed checking out all the goods at the 2014 Chinook Rod & Gun clubs 2nd Annual Gun and Antique show. The club is set to host their fourth event, October 7-9. The show is a primary fundraiser for the club. Money raised has been used to improve the gun range south of town and host a Youth Fishing day in June of each year. The club has been active in the community and can be enjoyed by the whole family.
It seems just like yesterday a small group of people got together and decided to revive the old shoot Chinook Rod and Gun Club. The club began back in the 1940s and reached its High Point in the mid-eighties before going dormant.
In their short time of re-emergence the club has become very active in the community. They are posted for Youth Fishing days in which several hundred kids have had the opportunity to fish Dry Fork Reservoir just north of town and a fun-filled day that so each of them go home with a prize.
