4th Annual Gun and Antique show to be held October 7th-9th

It seems just like yesterday a small group of people got together and decided to revive the old shoot Chinook Rod and Gun Club. The club began back in the 1940s and reached its High Point in the mid-eighties before going dormant.

In their short time of re-emergence the club has become very active in the community. They are posted for Youth Fishing days in which several hundred kids have had the opportunity to fish Dry Fork Reservoir just north of town and a fun-filled day that so each of them go home with a prize.

The Rod & Gun club has been very active in reviving the shooting range south of town and has seen their membership grow steadily through the years.

Presently the club is preparing to host its 4th Annual Gun and Antique show which has become a major fundraiser for the group.

The gun show has grown each year and features 80 tables with more than 40 vendors selling a variety of items including guns, ammunition, knives, jewelry, furniture and collectibles.

The show has become so popular The vendors are now signing up to be a part of the event a full year in advance. As is the case with any function some vendors fill slots at the last moment do to others not being able to attend because of various reasons.

The gun show is held annually at the Blaine County Fairgrounds Commercial Building. This years show will take place, October 7th-9th. The three-day event features a pay once admission pass that allows entry through the weekend.

For the fourth year in a row concessions will be provided by Blaine Counties Valley Clover 4-H club. The club is on hand throughout the event serving a variety of goods from hamburgers to sodas fruits candy and other snacks.

Friday's session will take place from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. and will be followed with a dinner hosting the vendors at the Eagles Club in Chinook. A 50/50 drawing will also be a part of the night's activities.

Saturday session will go from 9 a.m. till 6 p.m. and Sundays conclusion will run from 9 a.m. till 3 p.m. children 12 and under are admitted free and adults will pay a $5 admission fee, children under 12 must be accompanied by an adult.

Vendors and their goods are protected by 24 hour security from start to finish.
