"Walks to End Alzheimer's" to be held in select locations

Throughout the fall season the Montana Alzheimer’s Association is sponsoring “Walks to End Alzheimer’s” in selected locations. Purpose of these walks is to raise awareness and funds for advancements in research, support and hopefully a cure for this to common dreadful brain disease. Alzheimer’s disease is the most costly of all human diseases as it necessitates constant care-giving by family members, professionals and finally facilities providing extended care. In Montana alone, over 20,000 individuals are suffering from the disease and some 50,000 caregivers are required to tend those afflicted. Financial support by all resources is essential to aid in the search for a cure.

In the past, a team headed by Kimberly Garson whose mother (Karen Jellum) passed away in 2013, has raised money to donate to research organizations. Her team is labeled “Walk for Karen” They have been the top fundraising team the past four years in Bozeman, this years walk is scheduled for Sunday September 18.

Donations may be sent to Alzheimer’s Associated Montana 3010 11th Ave. North, Billings MT 59101, specifying “Walk for Karen” in Bozeman or they may be sent to: Gale Jellum Box 1000, Chinook, MT 59523 and he will be delivering them personally.
