Peter Pula is new Assistant City Clerk for Chinook

Customers visiting Chinook City Hall will see a familiar face at the service counter. Peter Pula started as Assistant City Clerk on September 6. He will work with City Clerk Carol Floren at city hall. He grew up in Chinook.

Pula graduated from CHS in 1988 then attended Concordia College, in Moorhead, Minnesota, where he earned a bachelor's degree in English Literature and Business. After several years working in banking and insurance he served as Blaine County's Weed Coordinator from 2006-2013. Most recently he was working as the Postmaster for the Zurich Post Office.

Asked why he was interested in the Assistant Clerk's position, Pula said, "I was looking for a challenge and the job has a lot of different aspects. Right now my main challenge is getting my head around accounting again." He's no stranger to accounting with a business major in college and performing jobs in banking and insurance that had components based on accounting.

City Clerk Floren, who will supervise Pula, said she was very excited to have him as a new member of the city team. She added, "Peter has an impressive background with a lot of relevant experience. I believe he will be a great asset here at city hall."
