We've Got The County Covered
Boy was I shocked last weekend when I found out that Buffalo had beaten the Patriots. Not only did they beat them but they didn’t even allow the Patriots to score in their own stadium!
That has not happened for a while. It couldn’t have happened at a better time for Rex Ryan. That was his first win for the season and rumor had it that if he did not win the Patriots game he would be looking for a job! So, before this last round of games has been played let’s see who is where and what is what in the mighty NFL.
New England is at the top of the American conference eastern division with 3-1. Houston is at the top of the southern division with 3-1. Baltimore is at the top of the North with 3-1 and Denver is at the top of the west with 4-0, only one of two teams with that record so far.
In the National Conference Philadelphia is the head of the east with 3-0. Atlanta is head of the south with 3-1. Minnesota is the head of the north with 4-0 and believe it or not in the west it is the Las Angeles Rams at the head with 3- 1. There is another team where Coach Jeff Fisher probably has to produce this year or it is good-bye.
On the bottom the four and outs include only Cleveland. Everyone else has won something.
For you Vikings fans this is a great year. In a brand new stadium, playing with a new quarterback and not having the services of Adrian Peterson due to injuries, still you are 4-0! That is really something!
It was said that when the 1-3 Cardinals played the 1-3 San Francisco Forty Niners, the loser of that game would not be going to the playoffs. Well, San Francisco lost so we will see how accurate those words from the street are.
In Montana Prep Football, there are some standings to report this week. Havre was at the top of Central A although after losing to Belgrade this last weekend, Belgrade will emerge on the top.
In district 2B it is Glasgow at the top of the heap and Harlem is fourth. In Northern C it is Chinook coming in at seventh place and the Thunderbirds coming in ninth. In six man Big Sandy is fifth with Valier being in first.
How about some predictions for next week? Montana plays Sacramento State and struggles but wins. Montana State plays Weber State and wins.
Northern plays Rocky and wins. Havre plays Livingston and wins, Harlem plays Malta and wins, Chinook plays Cascade and wins and the Thunderbirds play Simms and lose.
In week six of the NFL on Thursday night Denver beats San Diego.
On Sunday it is San Fran over Buffalo in an upset of the week, Jacksonville over Chicago and the Rams over Detroit.
It is Pittsburgh over Miami, New England over Cincinnati and Carolina over New Orleans.
It is Baltimore over the Giants, Philadelphia over Washington and Tennessee over Cleveland.
It is Oakland over Kansas City, Dallas over Green Bay and Atlanta over Seattle.
Sunday night it is Indianapolis over Houston and on Monday night football it is Arizona over the Jets.
That is my story and I am sticking to it. Go Thunderbirds!
