We've Got The County Covered
Kindergarten students through grade 12 at Turner Public School enjoyed an assembly with three firemen from the Hogeland and Turner Volunteer Fire Department.
They started off by visiting with grades K-2 students and talked about fire prevention, changing batteries in smoke and fire detectors, fire drills, stop, drop, and roll drills, etc. The students enjoyed seeing the firemen come in actual fire gear and make the smoke detector "beep!" Older students made a practice exit from their classroom on fire escape ladders.
There was a question/answer period and the visit from the department was appreciated. Shown here are three firemen who visited the school. They are Aaron Van Valkenburg, David Jones and Johannas Brown. Thanks to these gentlemen for their visit to the school.
