Lawrence Eugene Siemens was born on September 21, 1928 to Jacob and Kathaleen Siemens of Chinook, Montana.
Lawrence grew up 23 miles North of Chinook on the Siemens Ranch where they grew wheat and raised Black Angus cattle. Lawrence learned to play his accordion by ear, and he was so good at it. He would play for himself family, friends and dances.
Lawrence went to grade school up north and then he went to Chinook High where he graduated in 1946. In 1947 he married Irene Tritt of Chinook. They had four children Sharon, Bob, Laurie and Bill.
They moved to Portland Oregon and raised their family until 1968. Lawrence and Irene bought a 280 acre ranch in White Salmon, Washington and it was later sold to a cousin in 1973.
Lawrence loved to take his family camping at the beach or go out boating and water skiing. He enjoyed friends and family, going on picnics, coin collecting, traveling, and spent many years down in Nyland, California with Frances.
Lawrence worked for Moris P. Kirk in Portland Oregon for 26 years and when he moved to White Salmon he worked in a sawmill in Bingen until he moved back to Montana to work on the family ranch until he retired.
Lawrence and Frances Ewing shared a very special life together for 35 years with their families. They were always there for each other.
Early in Lawrence’s life he was baptized in the American Lutheran Church.
Lawrence passed away on Monday night at Sweet Memorial Nursing Home, on October 17, 2016.
He will always be remembered for playing his accordion and will always be loved and missed by all his families and friends.
Deceased are parents Jake and Kathaleen. He is survived by Frances Ewing and family, Sharon and Larry Johnston and family, Bob and Dinah Siemens and family, Laurie and Dennis Portner and family and Bill Siemens and family.
Services will be held at American Lutheran Church on Saturday, October 29, 2016 at 11:00 a.m., across from the High School.
