Holland and Bonine Funeral Home is expanding their business by opening an office in Chinook.
The funeral home has been open and located in Havre, MT since 1906 and has seen various owners throughout its lifetime. It is currently owned by Jennifer Kinsella, who saw an opportunity to expand her business, and wasted no time in acting upon this opportunity.
“We receive a lot of people calling from Chinook and we have done a few funeral services there…it seemed like there was a need for the service, and we could fulfill it,” recalled Jennifer Kinsella regarding what prompted the opening of an office in Chinook. “If things go well, and we are welcomed into the community, an expansion into a full funeral home could very well be in our future plans.”
The main goal in mind for opening an office in Chinook is to cut down on the driving required for families in Chinook, and other nearby towns, interested in arranging a funeral through Holland and Bonine. However, families are still welcome to visit the Havre location if that is preferred.
Kinsella says the entire staff is excited for the opportunity of expanding the business. Madisen McIntosh, born and raised in Chinook, is part of the Holland and Bonine staff, and will be playing a major role in the new office. “She has a compassion for where she is from and that is important for families to see when they are going through a difficult time,” comments Kinsella. “This is a needed service, not one that people want, but at some point. And when they do need us, we can provide the care and compassion along with the knowledge that their loved one will be take care of.”
The office will be located in the same building as Brandon Nissen with Northwestern Mutual, 263 Indiana Street. Their regular office hours will be Thursdays from 10 am 4 pm. While this time is hopefully concrete, it may vary depending on funeral services. If this change of time occurs, Holland and Bonine can still be easily contacted over the phone. They will also be accepting appointments.
