We've Got The County Covered
Blaine Counties lone contested race was for Clerk of District Court where Democrat Tami Mitchell received 1,690 votes to win over Republican Pauley Miller who received 1,019 votes.
Mitchell will take over as Clerk of Court after being Sworn-in in January. She will replace Kay Johnson who had held the position for the past 32 years.
The race might have been contested but the campaigns ran by both candidates were extremely cordial, “I’ve worked with Pauley’s husband Perry for several years, the two have been family friends for years, I didn’t really like having to campaign for the position and I’m glad we had such clean campaigns,” said Mitchell.
“The position requires certain skills, experience but anyone can run for it, I just think it is more than that,” added Mitchell.
In the 100 plus year history of the position Mitchell becomes just the eighth person to have the job, the last stayed for 32 years, “I’ll never make 32, but I’ll do the best job I can for as long as I can,” concluded Mitchell.
