Sandra Kay (Albright) Berger was born January 15, 1943 to Robert and Elsie Albright in Chester, Montana. She attended schools in Chester, graduating in 1961. Sandra married John Couturier on April 10, 1962 and moved to a farm outside of Chinook in 1969. She worked on the farm and was a housewife and raised her three children, Corey, Camie, and Dominique. When her children were older she went to work full time at the Blaine County Courthouse in the Clerk and Recorder's office from 1980 to February 1999 and then part time from April 1999to November of 2003. She married Oscar "Buster" Berger in 1982. They lived in Chinook, happily until Buster's death in May of 2009. They loved to go fishing and you could always spot them around the local fishing holes. Sandra was a great cook and baker while raising her children. She loved to garden and work in her yard. Her flowers were her pride and joy. Also, Sandra taught catechism and helped clean at the Catholic Church. Grandchildren were her treasures and she loved to spoil them all, especially on holidays. They were a great source of joy to her. Surviving her are her three children and two grandchildren, Kimberly Ann and Favian. Sandra was also step-mother to Kenny, Danny, Susie Berger, Nanette Hicks and Colette Olson and step grandmother to Jake, Lacy, and Marissa Berger, Nathan, Jerret, Jenny and Becky Hicks, and Russell and Chris Nemetz. Her sister Dawn Albright and brother Joe Albright also survive her. She was preceded in death by her parents and a son, Jody Staudacher. Funeral services were held at 11:00 AM Thursday, November 17 at St. Gabriel's Catholic Church with a luncheon immediately following. Internment will be held at a later date.
