We've Got The County Covered

Blaine County Library

The movie today will be “The Christmas Candle,” which runs for 1 hour and 40 minutes and is rated PG. Everyone is welcome to attend and refreshments will be served. “A Christmas Story” will be the movie next Wednesday. If anyone has a request for a movie to be shown, please let us know or tell Kristy at the Senior Center. We are now taking requests for movies in January.

Middle School Hangout will be Monday December 19th from 3:30 to 5:00. We are aware that there is a concert that evening, so if your child needs to leave early, we totally understand. Story Time is Tuesday mornings at 10:30 a.m. Kids of all ages and abilities are welcome to attend. LEGO Club is Thursdays from 3:30 to 4:30 and is open to kids in grades K-6.

We have a couple non-fiction books ready to go this week. “The Brain Warrior’s Way” by Daniel Amen, MD and Tana Amen, BSN, will show you how to ignite your energy and focus, attack illness and aging, and transform pain into purpose. “The Daily Show (The Book)” by Jon Stewart is the complete, uncensored history of Stewart’s award-winning The Daily Show, as told by its correspondents, writers, hosts and Stewart himself.

James Patterson fans will be glad to hear the new Alex Cross book “Cross the Line” is ready for checkout. “Britt-Marie was Here” by Fredrik Backman is an irresistible novel about finding love and second chances in the most unlikely of places. “The Chemist” by Stephanie Meyer is a gripping page turner. An ex-agent on the run from her former employers must take one more case to clear her name and save her life. “Island of Glass” by Nora Roberts is book three of the Guardians trilogy.

Finding Dory, Star Trek Beyond and When the Game Stands Tall are three new movies ready for checkout this week. We also have all six seasons of Downton Abbey, thanks to the generous donation of one of our patrons.

Be sure to take a look at Season’s Readings, the December book display Kelsey put together. There is a nice mix of new and old, fiction and non-fiction Christmas books.

It’s been a while since we have given thanks to our patrons who have made donations. A big thank you goes out to Steve Edwards, Ben Hall, Colleen Overcast, George Luce, Sandy Miller, Carol Johnsrud, Nancy and Kelcey Diemert, Amanda Frank and Donna Murdy. We appreciate your generosity!

There is always something going on at the library. Check us out on Facebook or look us up on our website at http:www.blainecountylibrary.org for up to date information about what’s going on!
