CHINOOK, MT
Bonnie M. Gallus, 72 of Chinook, went to be with the Lord on December, 19th 2016. She died peacefully at Northern Montana Hospital surrounded by family. Visitation was held at Edwards Funeral Home, Monday, December 26, 2016 at 7:00 PM in Chinook. Funeral services will be Saturday, December 31, 2016, 11:00 AM at the Lloyd Sweet Auditorium in Chinook.
Bonnie was born February 4, 1944 to Edward and Hazel (Kruse) Magda. She attended school in Chinook, graduating in 1962. She then attended Northern Montana College in Havre earning her teaching degree. In 1967 she married Donald Gallus, her best friend and soulmate. Together they lived in Harlem until 1973, when she became pregnant with their son Scott and moved to Chinook.
Bonnie taught school in Zurich, Harlem and Chinook until retiring in 2002, having taught for thirty-two years. Bonnie enjoyed teaching and had a hard time leaving the school system. After her teaching career, Bonnie enjoyed her time on the Blaine County Library Board and Garden Club. She also enjoyed spending time coloring, playing games and just being with her grandchildren, Sasha, Alexis and Timothy. She worked with them often, helping with everything from their ABC's to learning to read and do math.
Bonnie is survived by her husband Don of 49 years, Scott (Jessica) Gallus and their children, Sasha, Alexis, and Timothy of Chinook. She was preceded in death by her parents, Ed and Hazel Magda and a half sister Eileen Doney.
