We've Got The County Covered
In October, officers were elected. President- Reece Hutton, Vice President-Rennay Watkins, Secretary- Ashlea Schroder, Treasurer- Brooke Reed, Reporter- Hannah Richman, Historians- Jessa Schroder and Izzy Baker. Awards were handed out from Achievement day. Brooke Reed received the Super Sweepstakes award. Reece Hutton received a Steer of Merit and Swine of Excellence awards. Ashlea & Jessa Schroder received Certified lamb, with Ashlea placing first place in carcass evaluation and Jessa placing third. Parents were asked to represent family with a leadership role. Shannon VanVoast is the new Cloverbud leader with 10 kids this year!
In November, the Christmas lights were repaired and hung in Turner. On hand to help were Huttons, Billmayers, and Schroders.
In January, Anita Reed gave a demonstration to the club on how to make pie crust.
In February, members decorated sugar cookies and then made cookie plates that were given to people in the community. We made a schedule to do demonstrations/talks over the next 2 months. March will be Huttons, Watkins, Reeds, and Schroders. April will be Billmayers, Bakers, and Richmans. A committee was formed to work on the booth for the Seed Show. Rennay Watkins, Brooke & Bridget Reed, Hannah & Natalie Richman, and Bailey Billmayer formed the committee. We will do a gardening theme this year.
In March, reports were given on the cookie workshop by Bridget Reed, the Seed show booth by Rennay Watkins, and the CHS quality assurance seminar by Hannah Richman. Our garden theme booth, “Plant your feet in 4-H and watch yourself grow”, received second place at the Seed Show. A committee was formed to come up with an idea for a basket for the Harlem Library raffle. Rennay Watkins, Bailey Billmayer, Hannah Richman, Izzy Baker, and leader Jessi Billmayer formed the committee. Barn signs for the fairgrounds are now in production. Families will be responsible for planting flowers in the town planters by May 15th. Four demonstrations/talks were given by Reece Hutton, Rennay Watkins, and Brooke & Bridget Reed.
