When all was said and done Pike Construction of Chinook hauled more than 1,300 cubic yards of contaminated soil from the lot on the corner of Indiana Street and U.S. Highway 2. Donnie McCurry, Environmental Science Specialist with the Department of Environmental Quality - Montana is the directing authority of the clean up at the petroleum release sight. McCurry said they will install a well for periodic testing and when petroleum levels fall below established limits the sight will be released.
