Aaniiih Nakoda College Nursing Program ends its first year of instruction. The Aaniiih Nakoda College Nursing Program will be seeking a new cohort of students for fall 2017.
The Associate Degree in the Nursing Program is approved by the Montana State Board of Nursing and is accredited by the Northwest Commission for Colleges and Universities. The “Grow Our Own” program was developed to meet the demand for registered nurses in American Indian communities and for rural and or frontier communities along the hi-line.
American Indian lifeways of knowing are incorporated throughout the curriculum utilizing the Medicine Wheel which symbolizes the holistic approach to nursing care. Maintaining the high quality educational standards of an RN program, provides the necessary support for students to successfully complete this rigorous program.
The program offers state of the art technology in the form of a complete nursing simulation lab for hands on clinical experience. Clinical rotations occur at high quality healthcare facilities across Montana’s hi-line and throughout the Fort Belknap community. The program also has incorporated Kaplan’s comprehensive student NCLEX preparation program; testing modules to benchmark and track student performance and progression.
Students interested in this program are encouraged to contact the ANC Nursing office for information. Questions related to application requirements or the admissions process can be directed to the Registrar’s office of ANC campus.
