The Fort Belknap Community Economic Development (FBCEDC) is the lead entity overseeing the Red Paint Creek Trading Post & Pantry project, a new grocery cooperative store in Lodge Pole, Montana. FBCEDC would like to provide the public with the following update for the new store:
• Installation & hookup of waste water treatment system- May 12, 2017
• Installation of store signage- week of May 15, 2017
• Leveling of gravel in parking lot & fuel island & tank area- week of May 15, 2017
• Installation of fuel island & tank- (Awaiting contractor’s schedule)
• Installation of commercial refrigeration- tentatively scheduled for week of May 29, 2017 (dependent on ability to obtain a new commercial contractor- current contractor from Billings informed they cannot provide services for this project)
• Store soft opening tentatively planned- June 30, 2017
• Store grand opening tentatively scheduled- July 31, 2017
FBCEDC would like to thank the community for their patience regarding this project. Some of the reasons for the delay in the opening of the new store are:
• Effort in obtaining a commercial refrigeration contractor to install refrigeration system- there are a limited amount of commercial refrigeration contractors located in Montana. Increased costs to obtain a contractor outside of Montana.
• This project is funded through different government grants. Each grant has certain procurement requirements, which is dependent on the cost.
FBCEDC is a nonprofit corporation striving to promote a thriving economy on the Fort Belknap Indian Reservation. FBCEDC is governed by a board of directors, consisting of four enrolled members of the Fort Belknap Indian Community.
