The Summer Reading Program “Build Better World” kicks off this week. Tonight is the Family Fun Night from 6:30-8:00 filled with stories, games, snacks and fun! Children must be accompanied by an adult. Registration is now open for children who wish to participate in the summer reading program. Stop by the library to sign up or you may also register via email or Facebook. This summer we also have a Letter by Letter game for adults to play. Come to the library to pick up your game board and instructions.

The weekly programs for children begin next week. The Read to Me program meets on Tuesdays at 10 A.M. beginning June 6 for infants through preschoolers and their parents/caregivers. The Readers Club meets on Thursdays at 1 P.M. beginning June 8 for children who have completed kindergarten through grade 6. Clifford the Big Red Dog will make a visit to the library June 12 at 1 P.M. thanks to Montana PBS. Call the library at 353-2712 for more information.

A new nonfiction selection is “Thunder in the Mountains: Chief Joseph, Oliver Otis Howard, and the Nez Perce War” by Daniel J. Sharfstein.

“The Twelve Lives of Samuel Hawley” is by Hannah Tinti. Loo has spent her young life moving from place to place on the run with her father, Samuel Hawley. Now that Loo is a teenager Samuel decides to settle down in his late wife’s hometown seeking a normal life. But when Loo investigates the mother she never knew she uncovers her parent’s hidden past that is made real by the twelve scars her father carries on his body. Each scar from a bullet he took in his criminal career.
