We've Got The County Covered
Don't miss Clifford the Big Red Dog who will be a special guest at the library on Monday, June 12, 1 P.M. This event is sponsored by PBS Montana and is a family friendly event. There will be activity stations and opportunities to have photos with everybody's favorite big red dog! This will replace the usual summer programs for that week.
There is still time to sign up for summer reading. Children preschool through grade six are invited to participate. Stop by the library, call 353-2712, or you may register on Facebook. The Read to Me program meets on Tuesdays at 10 A.M. for infants -preschoolers and their parents/caregivers. Children in K-grade 6 are invited to the Readers Club which meets on Thursdays at 1 P.M. Adults are invited to take part in the "Letter By Letter" game. Pick up your game board and instructions at the library. Lego Club for all ages meets on Thursdays at 6 P.M.
Pick up a new book this week! "The Secrets You Keep" is by Kate White. In this psychological thriller Bryn Harper is recovering from a car accident and it haunted by nightmares that contain a warning. Her new husband, Guy, is growing evasive and secretive. Then the woman they hired to cater a dinner party is murdered. When a second murder happens Bryn realizes her nightmares may hold the key to the identity of the murderer.
Author Jeffery Deaver has written "The Burial Hour." A strange crime scene of the kidnapping of a business man calls in forensic detective Lincoln Rhyme and his partner Amelia Sachs. The case takes a terrifying turn when a recording of a hanging is found. A similar kidnapping in Naples requires international cooperation where all the players may not be whom they seem.
"The Forbidden Garden" is a novel by Ellen Herrick. Sorrel Sparrow is hired to restore the Shakespeare Garden at Kirkwood Hall, the ancestral English home of Sir Graham Kirkwood and his wife, Stella. The garden is in deplorable condition. As she sets to work the garden's secrets are slowly unraveled revealing a connection to Sorrel's own destiny.
David Baldacci's latest is "The Fix." Just outside FBI headquarters, detective Amos Decker witnesses a woman killed execution style followed by the shooter turning the gun on himself. Decker and his team can find no connection between the victim and her killer. Harper Brown, agent for the Defense Intelligence Agency, orders Decker to back off the case because solving the case may risk national security. But when has Decker ever followed the rules?
A new biography is "Richard Nixon: The Life" by John A. Farrell. Historian David McCullough has written "The American Spirit: Who We Are and What We Stand For."
Other new titles include "Mississippi Blood," the conclusion to the Natchez Burning trilogy by Greg Iles and "Earthly Remains," a Commissario Guido Brunetti mystery by Donna Leon.
