This group of fellas on the Turner Volunteer Fire Department roster were available to cook and greet/meet the community members that came to the picnic on Friday. The Turner Firemen did their raffle during the picnic held this past Friday. Taylor Fouts, volunteer, and Captain, David Jones drew a lucky winner for a half beef. The lucky winner was Jim Barngrover of Helena.
The kids enjoyed getting "wet" at the Firemen's picnic. It's definitely one of the attractions to all ages of children. This group of kiddos fought off the heat by engaging in water fun! It kept them entertained all afternoon.
The fireman picnic wasn't just about firemen. It was about camaraderie with friends and neighbors. This event brings people together and people who travel distances. Shown here is Mary Ellen (Anderson) Deloach of Wisconsin and Rose Van Voast of Turner catching up on old times. Much reminiscing is done throughout the day each year this picnic takes place. It truly is an appreciated day!
Riding the tanker truck is always the main highlight of the day to most the children who attend the annual affair. The firemen supervise the ride and take them for a short ride around town. The kids look forward to this every single year and it never seems to disappoint. Thanks to the firemen who take the time to make this wish come true to many of these children.
A potluck picnic was held this past Friday at the Turner Park sponsored by the Turner Volunteer Fire Department. The firemen barbecued hamburgers and hot dogs along with corn on the cob. The public filled in with potluck salads and desserts. The meal was delicious and a great time was had reminiscing, visiting, along with water games, and horse shoes. Pictured is a line of community members who worked their way through the food line. Everything was so tasty and a great job was done by the local volunteer firemen.
