Swimmers head to Sidney for Easter Divisional this weekend

The summer swim season has reach the home stretch and teams from Chinook and Harlem are working hard this week to prepare for the Eastern Divisional Swim meet in Sidney this weekend and advance as many swimmers as they can to the State swim meet in Lewistown August 5th and 6th.

The Chinook Lions wrapped up their regular season with a strong showing in Roundup this past Saturday and Sunday and the Harlem Swim team split their roster between Roundup and Conrad.

Several swimmers established personal best and three took home High Point Honors. Chinook Lions Katie Tilleman set two pool records in Roundup winning the eight and under girls 25 Meter Butterfly in :19.94 and the 25 Meter Backstroke in :20.73. She also took home the gold in the 25 Meter Breaststroke with a time of :23.57.

Chinooks Hallie Neibauer won the girls 9-10 top trophy with first place finishes in the 50 Meter Freestyle (:35.93) and the 100 Meter Individual Medley (1:38.80). Neibauer also finished second in the 50 Meter Butterfly (43.34(.

Harlem's Andrew Rasmussen won another high point in the boys 13-14 division winning the 200 Meter Individual Medley (2:49.98) the 100 Meter Backstroke ( 1:18.47) and the 200 Meter Freestyle (2:22.26).

Harlem's Shane Stiffarm swam very well in Conrad winning the 9-10 boys 100 Meter Freestyle in 1:25.40 and the 50 Meter Butterfly in :46.12. Stiffarm also finished second in the 50 Meter Breaststroke with a time of :50.48.

Alaura Hawley was also an individual champion for the Harlem swim team with a win in the girls 9-10 50 Meter Butterfly (:44.13) in Conrad.

Individual winners from Chinook included Brockton Elliot in the 9-10 Boys 50 Meter Butterfly (:41.31); Daniel Tilleman in the 9-10 Boys 100 Meter Freestyle (1:17.66) and the 50 Meter Freestyle (:35.52) and Benton Elliot in the 13-14 100 Meter Freestyle 1:05.19.

The Chinook Lions also swam very well in the relays sweeping the eight and under girls races as Tilleman, Amyerah Kelley, Lori Mord and Rachel Stephens won the Freestyle Relay. Mara Edwards, Kelley, Tilleman and Stephens won the Medley Relay.

Daniel Tilleman, Kohen Sullivan Brockton Elliot and Dentin DePriest combined two win both the 9-10 boys 100 Meter Freestyle and 100 Meter Medley

relays.

Both the Chinook and Harlem teams will look for a strong showing this weekend. The top 12 swimmers in each event at the Divisional in Sidney will advance to the State swim meet in Lewistown August 5-6.
