Annabelle Lodge Thomas

Annabelle Lodge Thomas, 88; niih-inaat-ithaa (Windy Woman) of Hays died at the Northern Montana Care Center on August 4th, 2017 In Havre.

She was born April 5th, 1929 at the Fort Belknap Agency born to Fredrick V. & Lillian (Arms) Lodge.

Annabelle was a proud full-blooded member of the Aaniiih Tribe. She loved her culture and worked hard to support her family after her husband Albert died in 1986. She was a devoted to her Catholic faith and prayed the rosary every night before bed. She loved camping, cooking at family gatherings, visiting family & friends, and she dearly loved her home.

She was preceded in death by grandfather Charlie Arms; her husband Albert K. Thomas; her son Albert C. Thomas; her sisters Birdie Mae Shortman; Lillian Lodge; and Marie Bear; Joann Favel; Olive Schmockel; her brothers Buster & Bennie Lodge; and by 4 grandchildren: Ranae, Leandra, Jamie & Joyce.

Annabelle is survived by her daughters Judy Thomas; Myrtle &Doris Thomas; Sons: Louis, Frank, Howard, and Eric Thomas. 21 Grandchildren and 37 great grandchildren.

A wake began at the St. Paul's Rec Center at 5 p.m. and the Rosary was held at 7 p.m. Monday, August 7th, 2017. A funeral Mass was held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, August 8th, 2017 at the St. Paul's Mission Church in Hays, Montana. Burial followed at the Thomas Family Cemetery.
