We've Got The County Covered

Blaine County Library

The Blaine County Library Board of Trustees will hold their regular monthly meeting Wednesday August 30, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. in the library meeting room.

We have a little bit of everything available this week. Filled with heartbreak and betrayal, triumph and fulfillment, “The Right Time” by Danielle Steel is an intimate, richly rewarding novel about pursuing one’s passion and succeeding beyond one’s wildest dreams. “Need to Know” by Fern Michaels is a new Sisterhood novel. Through all their missions and adventures, the tightknit group of friends who make up the Sisterhood have learned one vital lesson: everybody has a weak spot. In the case of Yoko Wong’s dear friend Garland Lee, the multimillion-selling performer known as America’s beloved songbird, that weak spot was trusting her lawyer, Arthur Forrester. For years, he’s taken advantage of her faith in him to amass a secret fortune. And now, in the deepest betrayal yet, he’s dragged her into a lawsuit that could cost her everything. “The Promise of Dawn” by Lauraine Snelling is the first book in a new series, Under the Northern Skies. A present you can’t remember and a past that won’t let you go. You’re home making dinner for your husband, whom you expect home any second. The phone rings- it’s the call you hoped you’d never get. You jump in your car and race to a neighborhood you thought you’d never visit. You peer into the dark, deserted building, and brace yourself for the worst. After that, you remember nothing. That is what you will find in the book “A Stranger in the House” by Shari Lapena. “Charlatans” is a new medical thriller from Robin Cook. “Are We Screwed?” by Geoff Dembicki explores how a new generation is fighting to survive climate change. The Millennial generation could be first to experience the doomsday impacts of climate change. It’s also the last generation able to do something about them. With time ticking down, 31-year-old journalist Dembicki journeyed to Silicon Valley, Canada’s tar sands, Washington, DC, Wall Street and the Paris climate talks to find out if he should hope or despair. What he learned surprised him. Millions of people his age want to radically change our world, and they are at the forefront of resistance to the politicians and CEOs steering our planet towards disaster.

We are now able to turn on patron history in our catalog. If you are one of those patrons who wish we could tell you what you already read, this is a feature you will love. Any patron who wants this feature turned on, just needs to let us know and we will take care of it! Another service available at the library is Shoutbomb. Shoutbomb is a great service that patrons can sign up for and it will alert you via text message when you have an item about due or overdue. This service also enables you to renew items if there are no holds. If you are a patron who could benefit from this service, follow the link on our website and sign up! For all patrons who enjoy audio books or eBooks, we have MontanaLibrary2Go. This service allows patrons to download audio and eBooks to portable devices or home computers. Follow the link on our website to learn how to use this service. The best part is all of these services are paid for from our budget and they are free to our patrons! If you have any questions or need help with any of these services, just give us a call or stop in with your device and we will be glad to help you.

Wednesday movies will start again in September. Stand Your Ground will be the 1 st movie on Wednesday September 6th at 1:00 p.m. in the library meeting room. Everyone is welcome to attend and refreshments will be served.
