If you have participated in the Letter by Letter game this summer you have until tomorrow, Aug. 31, to let the library know what books you have read so you may be entered in the drawing to win a $50 gift card.
Please notify the library if you have read four books this month as part of the 2017 Reading Challenge. After the busy summer it's time to get back into the swing of things and start reading again. You may win a gift certificate from a local business!
The library will be closed for Labor Day. The week following the holiday the children's programming will resume. Books and Babies meets on Tuesday at 10 A.M. in the library meeting room. Story Time is held Fridays at 10 A.M. Lego Club meets on Thursdays from 6-7 P.M. in the meeting room.
Carly will hold Books and Babies the first Wednesday of each month at 10 A.M. at the Big Flat Grocery in Turner. She will be there Wed., Sept. 6. Following Books and Babies that day she will be at the Turner School from about 11-12 to sign up students and community members for library cards and to assist with MontanaLibrary2Go, which is a service to download free ebooks and audio books.
Those interested in participating in The Book Club, a book discussion group for adults, may pick up the their copy of "H is for Hawk" by Helen MacDonald the week of Sept. 5-8. The first discussion will be Monday, Sept. 11, 4 P.M. in the meeting room.
Stop by the library this week to check out the new additions to the collection. "The Mountain Between Us" by Charles Martin will soon be major motion picture. This is the story of two strangers who are in a plane crash in a remote mountain wilderness. In their life and death struggle to survive they develop an extraordinary bond. What will happen to their connection when and if they are saved?
"The Thirst" is the latest Harry Hole novel by Jo Nesbo. Even though Harry has promised himself and the woman he loves to never go back to the police force, a series of murders catches his attention. There are details that the investigators don't seem to notice. Harry throws himself back into the hunt for the murderer who also happens to be his nemesis, the monster who got away.
Adriana Trigiani is the author of "Kiss Carlo."
