Gary Richard Neufeld was born in Glasgow, MT on August 24th 1943 to John and Agnes Neufeld of Larslan, MT.
Gary attended Larslan School and Lustre Bible Academy. In high school Gary was remembered as a very good athlete. Gary attended Fresno State College and Hillen Advanced Air Craft School. In 1965 Gary volunteered for the Army, he was stationed at Ban Me Thuot, Vietnam. While in the service he received 6 Medals of Honor. After 3 years of service Gary stayed in South East Asia to work for Air America.
In 1975 Gary returned home to help his Dad on the family farm. Later Gary and his brother Marvin went into business Custom Harvesting. In 1977 Gary moved to Texas, where he and an Army buddy started an Air Craft Maintenance Service based out of Hobby Field in Houston, Texas. After selling the business Gary became a Hot Shot for the oil fields. In 2015 Gary moved to Chinook MT, the town his mother was raised and to be close to relatives. He passed away September 4th 2017 in his home of natural causes.
Gary was a man of Strong Faith in the Lord and everyone who knew him could see that.
He is survived by his brothers and sisters, Roger and Carolyn Neufeld of Dinuba, CA; Ken and Jan Neufeld of Stevensville, MT; Ruth Donnelly of FT. Lauderdale, FL; Marvin and Barbara Neufeld of Havre, MT; Dennis and Lora Neufeld of Show Low, AZ; Marvin and Joyce Bruch of Portland, OR; Debi Jacobson of Columbia Falls MT, and many nieces and nephews.
The Funeral Service will be held on September 15th at 1:00 pm at the Chinook Alliance Church 115 Indiana ST Chinook MT.
