We've Got The County Covered
The Harlem Senior Center will be hosting our second annual “Senior Sensations” Event on Wednesday, September 27, 2017. We invite the whole community to join us for a day filled with speakers, games, contests, information and pamphlets, photos and much more.
September is a month full of special recognition days/weeks that pertain to elderly topics. We will be honoring and celebrating several of them, in addition to providing the general public with as much information on certain senior topics as we are able to at this event.
Please come and check out what we have available and join us at our noon meal (Salad Bar Day) (suggested price of $5.00 for 60 and over, mandatory price of $6.00 for under age 60). If you will be joining us to eat at noon you must let us know before 10:00 am, otherwise you may not a get a meal.
The month of September is National Senior Center month. We definitely need to celebrate that! September 10th was National Grandparents Day. September is also National Centenarians Day (22nd), Falls Prevention Month, Ancestor Appreciation Day (27th) and many more.
There will be tables with informational brochures, pamphlets, etc. available for people to pick up. There will be lots of photos around showing our seniors in their finest moments, about 35 small door prize drawings (along with several bigger door prizes), a 50-50 Raffle, snacks and plenty of socialization with friends.
Other events include: Community Paper Shred (bring papers in you want to shred and you can use our machine or we will do it for you), Rolling Pin Roll Game (get closest to a target square and win a prize), and Guess Who It Is Game (guess who the mystery people are in the photos - most correct guesses wins a prize).
