We've Got The County Covered
Whether local students were behind the scenes as assistant directors or on stage dressed in costume, the children were stars this past week in Turner!
Auditions for the production, "Treasure Island" conceived and written by Jim Caron, and music and lyrics by Jim Caron and Michael McGill, took place on Monday followed by practice after school and all week long in the school gymnasium. At any rate, the students pulled off a fabulous production under the direction of Emily Dwornik, Tour Actor/Director and Eric Rhodes, Tour Actor/Director.
This production was hosted by The Big Flat Teacher's Association of the Turner School and is partially supported by the National Endowment for the Arts. Supported in part by a grant from the Montana Arts Council, an Agency of the State Government, and the National Endowment for the Arts. The Turner School also received $600.00 to be used towards the Missoula Children's Theater production from the Dennis and Phyllis Washington Foundation Scholarship.
Heather Jorgenson was the accompanist, which was truly appreciated by everyone associated with the play. Assistant directors were Caleb Zellmer, Ben Hunter, and J.R. Brown. Long John Silver was played by Emily Dwornik, Tour Actor/Director. Director was Eric Rhodes, Tour Actor/Director.
