We've Got The County Covered
The Sweet Medical Center will hold its Annual Health Fair this Friday at the Blaine County Commercial Building and will include something for everyone.
This years event is focused on being family friendly and encourages everyone to join in on the fun. “We are very excited to be incorporating more kid-friendly activities at this year’s health fair and welcoming back most of our loyal participants, as well as some new ones including Chair Massages by Carrie and demonstrations by Bare Pa-dma Yoga,” stated Nora Connor, Outreach and Enrollment Coordinator for the center.
There is plenty going on during the fair as well as some new activities, “There will be snacks provided by Mrs. Kellam’s students who are raising money for their international trip. The FFA students made a working, life-size Operation game. Another new feature this year is the Blaine County Ambulance service will be doing free echocardiograms (EKGs) to keep on file at the clinic and hospital. Everything is free except the blood screenings and flu shots and there’s plenty to check out whether you’re interested in those or not,” added Conner.
There will also be a Costume Contest with voting being done through Facebook October 28-31. Winners will receive a season pass to the Chinook City Pool and Havre Ice Dome, $100 Master Sports Gift Certificate or a book a month for a year.
Communication Specialist for the Sweet Medical Center, Christy Pease is excited about this fair, “We’re hoping to get a great turnout and give both kids and adults some ideas on healthy habits and ideas on how to moderate screen time. Another exciting new twist is that we’re doing a random drawing on Thursday afternoon of all the people who checked “Going” on our Facebook Health Fair Event. The winner will be announced Thursday evening and he or she can pick up their new Garmin vivosmart HR Activity Tracker at the event the next day! We hope to see everyone there and encourage wearing costumes since there will be a contest voted on by our Facebook followers with really nice prizes.”
